Trying not to know is becoming a mental battle. Everything seems like a spoiler. It's a political version of the likely lads,1 but we are still unaware of the result and even if the election has taken place. This is not so hard for us as it would be a person with a job, friends, social contact, a phone but as we have none of those it has been possible. After having made it clear to Helen, my sister and mother that we crave the dark, the only giveaways would be the UK news at my mothers flat, an email from an activist network, newspaper headlines at the shop and maybe overhearing some chatter. That said we see signs, for example a little USA flag flown above a stugan on the 76,2 was it there before? What would it indicate? Or when I told somebody I didn't watch the news anymore and their response of 'probably a good idea' sparked a fresh round of speculation. All that said we still know nothing. Whatever the result however I still think the art into social movement idea has more drawbacks than benefits.

Look here if Don Donald wins (we're still waiting for Ducks) what have people voted for? The far right space Reich with a side of ethno nationalism? Or simply for "hard working families" or some such? I think the latter even if the former is the truth. Again the situation could be tragic; the very passion, outrage and sincerity of the social movement could be exactly what has tipped the balance as social protest is filtered through media scales and fed out the other end in terms of basic identification; are you with these people or with everyone else? And this is so regardless of what the democratic candidate might be saying.

More words, L'estaque was never meant for this.

1 British situation comedy set in Newcastle. Likely to refer to the famous episode in which the key protagonist attempts to get through the day without hearing the football results.

2 The road to Norrtälje.
