The Open Council works to get more ideas into more people in more places. We develop and promote experimental policies across Newcastle, acting as an independent body adjacent to Newcastle City Council.

We believe that Open Council policies have the power to change lives and communities, and to create opportunities for people throughout the city. Our aim is for everyone in Newcastle to have the opportunity to develop rich and varied experimental policies that make real sense in their everyday lives. We will ensure that more high quality policy ideas reach a wider range of people engaging them as both audience and participants.
