Work 18  - House on Nygatan

"We have often enough bounded around the notion of lost societal imaginaries since the financial crisis aftermath and have even ventured to suggest the crisis and behavior of the powerful in the past decade has in part been made possible by the collapse of whatever imaginary held us up, but my dark little feeling was that in the unnerving spectacle of anti lock down, anti vaccine, anti 5g movements we are seeing the new imaginary in embryo state. And its past 12 weeks to boot!"

"After a short exchange it was clear she was genuinely interested in seeing more paintings but we had nothing for her, no website, nor flyer, no business card, no exhibition, no gallery, nothing. But a rare bit of quick thinking on our part saved the day as we informed her that we do have open weekends at our own barn gallery from time to time and if she could be contacted we could give her forewarning. Satisfied with that news she scribbled out her email address then ran off."

Work 16  - Sprouting Björk

"All we need is a link next to 'home' and 'introduction' which says 'crypto'. That will let us relax and continue on in the fields and forests in the knowledge that these undoubtably important events in art and the world don't pass us by."

Work 15  - Viking Abbey Sketches

"Look here, we lost the notion for the art public as far back as the carbielle assault and since then the 'public' has become such a far right creature that we cannot so innocently imagine it as the happy reciever of art and ideas that we once did and I think it once was. So to do we struggle to imagine our place in the tribal culture wars which have seen left wing activism and critique blurr with hoax and conspiracy."

Work 14 - Birch Wood

"...we have, during the course of the above work, stumbled in to a new artistic context within which we can operate and merge our doing and this new work will become our spring campaign. Usually of course I would be dependent on your approval for any changes in direction and format but since I have taken the reigns this season I have made the decision to embark on a mission into the world of 'crypto' art."

Work 13 - Tree Trunks

The anti lockdown and vaccination protests are flaring up again and indeed that body politic is a new hokey-cokey type beastie. We predicted that too but we are just an old aftertimer, in any case our aim this season is to fly away from the unimaginative contemporary psyche bore and off in to the future where one fine day the singularity shall yawn a big yawn, stretch a big stretch and awaken into all consciousness. In that context the stramash of the now is small game and as we say, perhaps leave it all to the experts and activists.

Work 12 - Footprints

"Here is a question: is it narcissistic to speculate endlessly about whether one is narcissistic? Nothing much to do but munch our own grass as we say in Bowers but artistic narcissism is a topic or accusation that we must acknowledge especially considering the way of working we are involved in now..."

Work 11 - Viking Abbey Sketches

"I would like to imagine that we are somehow trying to regain that human/public dimension, that it might come back around so to speak, but the nagging and unavoidable sense that arises from all this is that our games of Doing, especially in these videos, raise the specter of that other 'n' word: narcissism."
