"You know us by now. You know we keep the news media at arms length, choosing to navigate by the stars despite having the garmin plotter to hand you might say. You know we have been following events via the bite sized hints of news we find via the pages of the sky sports. You know we do it to control our attention, and also to avoid being manipulated. But you will ask, is there dignity in it? Could we simply be a head in the sand job? A 'bottle job' as young Neville might say?"

Work 51 - Portrait of Mary
"We have a portrait of my mother as promised painted to the BBC reports of the Little Vladz's invaiding Ukraine. That's as real as it comes suddenly. As my mother sat she talked of the war she was a part of, WW2. She lived in London and at the age of 6 was sent away to Cornwall with her sister for a few years to stay with orrible strangers while the bombs dropped. Now I know not what has been happening with dailly events and reported diplomacy but as we told the Borg it seems rather simple to us. Vladz the dictator moved all sorts of weapons and equipment to the border, waited a bit, then invaided."
Work 50 - Field Study
"As regards our recent wade through the abstractions and all that talk of astrturf, of idea laundering and the hyperstitious, we have drawn perhaps the inevitable conclusion - that we're not sure of anything. But look here, it's a world eat world dog out there and no mistake! That much is clear. We see and sense a world being covered by another; a far alt right take over, the process of automation, the next phase of nrx capitalism underway, all power to the silicone lads and to hell with it, any or all of the above and a whole lot more but the feeling for us is world eat world."
